Wow. I'm sitting here, in a town home, in Myrtle Beach. It's funny to think that just a couple months ago I was sitting in the living room of my apartment thinking about how I couldn't wait to move back to San Diego. I remember moving to Nashville having this crazy idea my head that I could travel around the country with a band. People definitely laughed at me, shook their heads and told me that it would take a long time for that to happen. I'm not going to lie, after only a few months in Nashville I was losing hope at a rapid pace. Well, things have finally changed. Back in October I met Mark, one half of the Mulch Brothers. I had told him how I wanted to get into the industry after working in radio for the past six years. I never thought that that conversation would land me here but that just goes to show you. Everything happens for a reason. Fast forward to only a couple weeks ago when I meet with Mark and Nick for the first time since October. I figured the meeting would be to just talk about how I could help them with their myspace/website and such. I never thought that they would flat out ask me to go on tour with them. I was shocked. They barely knew me! They informed that I would only be going on the first leg of the tour with them as kind of a trial. If the first two weeks worked out then we would discuss going on the rest of the tour with them. Ok, now fast forward to present day. I've been on the road with these guys for about a week and a half. I can not begin to explain how amazing this trip has been so far. As far as the experience I'm getting I could not have asked for anything better. I've been acting as tour manager/manager/assistant/merch girl/mom/driver/etc...It's been a lot of responsibility but it's been fun too. I've realized that I have to find a balance of work and play. I just spent eight days in Key West and although it was very tempting to go out with guys every night and get drunk, I had to think about making sure things got done. "It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it!" I look forward to seeing where this gig takes me. I miss California terribly but I know I have to stay here for a little while longer in order to fulfill this crazy dream.
